Most Android devices come with a built-in file manager that you can use to create ZIP files from folders.

Navigate to the folder you wish to email using your file manager. Hold down the folder and tap the three dots in the top-right corner. Then choose “Compress.”

A ZIP file containing your current directory is now available.

Note: If you cannot create ZIP files using your built-in file manager, you should use a free third-party file manager app like Cx File Explorer.

You can attach this ZIP file to an email by using your email app, composing a brand new email, and clicking the attach button. You can attach files to new emails in Gmail by tapping the attach icon and choosing “Attach File” from the new email screen. Browse the ZIP file that you created.

You can also attach a ZIP file to Outlook’s new email message. Tap the attach icon on the new email screen, then select “Choose from Files.”

If you want to send a ZIP-formatted folder via email on iPhone or iPad, you can do so with the built-in Files app.

First, open the Files app on your device. You can compress a folder by holding it and tapping on it.

Tap the share icon in the lower-left corner of the screen after selecting the newly created ZIP file.

Select the email app you want to send your folder from the share menu.

The zip file you selected will be attached to your new email screen in your email app. Send the ZIP file (as an email attachment) by filling in the other fields in the email and clicking send.
